Hypecon 2017: Magical forest

Again this year I was behind this cover picture for Hypecon anime, game and cosplay convention's program leaflet and t-shirt design!

This year Hypecon did have a fantasy forest theme! I desided to draw an explorer Rieku-chan (the mascot of the Hypecon convention) who founds a magical forest during her journey and meets friendly creatures.

This time I wanted to try new technique on the background. I made the lineart of the forest traditionally with pencils. After that I added colour on the drawing so that you can see the pencil work through the colouring! Rieku is made all the way traditionally. I coloured her again with ProMarkers C:
I really like the result of mixing digital and traditional art like this, and I definitely will try this technique again later when I deside to practise more drawing backgrounds!
